Flashlights
No official flashlight is listed in any documentation from the Office of Civilian Defense. It would follow that members of the Citizens Defense Corps used their own flashlight when on duty. There were probably dozens of flashlight models available at the rime.
A number of magazine adverts show Air Raid Wardens carrying a flashlight. Known examples of flashlights that date to the period are the Ray-O-Vac models, especially those carrying the Ray-O-Vac cloud branding motif. This maker’s mark was used in the mid- 1930s and used on the brand’s bullet-shaped flashlights.
